Meet the Candidate

Blaine Benge Moncrief

Blaine Benge Moncrief has spent her entire life in Jefferson Parish, and her entire career in service to its people.

A proud member of Loyola Law School's “Katrina Class,” the class that started in August of 2005, she has practiced law for 18 years across an unusually broad range of disciplines. She began her career in the legal department of her family's business, the Delacroix Corporation, before opening her own firm focused on Trusts, Estates, Probate, and Immovable Property Law.

Seeking to serve the community more directly, she joined the Jefferson Parish District Attorney's Office, where she prosecuted cases involving child welfare, juvenile delinquency, family violence, and violent crime. As a member of the Felony Trials Unit, she tried homicides, armed robberies, and child sex abuse cases, appearing in front of judges in all 16 divisions of the Twenty-Fourth Judicial District Court, both managing dockets and litigating major cases.

She currently practices at Couhig Partners, LLC, where her work spans insurance defense, Sheriff's Office defense, estate planning and successions, and commercial litigation. She is a qualified mediator, having served under the Jefferson Parish Case Management Order for Hurricane Ida cases and as a statewide mediator for the Louisiana Insurance Guaranty Association.

A Graduate Fellow of both the Loyola University Institute of Politics and the Nancy Marsiglia Institute of Justice, she brings academic distinction to an already accomplished record.

At home in Metairie, she and her husband are raising four children and are deeply engaged in their church and school communities at St. Catherine of Siena. Her volunteer roles have included Girl Scout Troop Leader, Girls on the Run Head Coach, Cub Scout Fundraising Chair, Boy Scout Merit Badge Counselor, and President of the Cooperative Club. She currently serves as Service Unit Administrator for Girl Scouts Louisiana East and sits on the Board of Directors at the Delacroix Corporation.

Blaine brings to this race years of real courtroom experience, a deep knowledge of the law, and a lifetime of investment in the community she hopes to serve from the bench.
